Sunny has engaged in the coaching post for HKU since 1992. With his professional knowledge in both swimming and fitness training, he keeps HKU Swimming Team in a leading position among tertiary institutions in Hong Kong to win 6 consecutive overall champions in HKPSCAA Aquatic Meet from 1998 to 2003.

Other than being an excellent coach, he is also a remarkable swimmer in Hong Kong. In 1990, he was a delegate for Hong Kong Swimming Team in Asian Game Beijing.

In October 2002, Sunny became ' World Champion ' in 50m Breaststroke in World Masters Games 2002, Melbourne Australia

Another highlight would be the 4th World FireFighters Games 1996 in Edmonton Canada, he did a wonderful job by winning 6 Gold Medals.
